Julian
Founder of Metres To Miles, CEO and front of house, Julian also has on his CV the highly impressive credentials of having worked in the sports trade for a major sportswear brand for several years prior to starting Metres to Miles.
His work saw Julian travelling the world to learn about new technology in running shoes and fabrics, which he’s now able to pass on to you in store. Julian has worked and conducted gait assesments at the expo events at the major marathons and the World Athletics Championships. He’s also been in the priviliged postion to have visited leading design studios, to see exactly what is invloved in developing those favourite running shoes.
Much more impressive is the little known fact that Julian himself was an International Runner competing numerous times for Great Britain and Northern Ireland on the track (both indoors and out), road and cross country. These appearances included two appearances in the World Cross Country Championships, in Marrakesh and Belfast. He also ran the World Road Relay Championships in Brazil.
Julian still runs most days around the Isle’ and hopes to run this autumn on the roads.
Dave
Former Isle resident and ‘main cup of tea maker’ Dave (No 138 above) also brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the store.
Still competing and quickly approaching the veterans age group, Dave’s running ambitions still lay within the road racing scene, which was the surface he enjoyed best and one he dominated in the UK several years ago.
Dave competed at the highest level, running 15 times for Great Britain & Northern Ireland. These appearances included two World Championships.

Cheryl
Metres to Miles official Entertainments Officer continues to blaze a trail on Saturdays both in and out of the shop, and yet still manages to add a bit of glamour that the two above members sadly lack!!!! She makes a cracking cup of tea at the breakfast club too! Laidback is the buzz word of the day for Cheryl!
